Ingredients
For the apples
- 6 large apples, peeled, cored, and cut into 3/4 inch pieces
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
For the topping
- 3/4 cups whole rolled oats
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 stick butter (1/2 cup), cold, diced into 1/2 inch cubes
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F. Lightly grease an 8x8-inch baking dish.
In a large bowl, mix together the apples, flour, brown sugar, lemon juice, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Spread the apple mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.

Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the apples are bubbling.
Uncover and bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden and crisp.
Let cool for 10 minutes.
Enjoy!
