Savory Steak Marinade
When it comes to preparing a great steak, a good marinade can make all the difference. This simple, yet flavorful marinade combines umami richness of soy sauce with a blend of herbs, garlic, and a touch of spice. Ingredients
- 2 pounds steak
For the marinade
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 1 large lemon, juiced
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 3 tablespoons dried marjoram
- 1 1/2 tablespoons garlic powder
- 1 1/2 tablespoons dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried minced garlic
- Pinch of red pepper flakes
Instructions
In a medium bowl, combine all marinade ingredients.
Place steak in a resealable bag.
Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it’s fully coated. Remove as much air from the bag as possible before sealing.
Marinate the steak in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, up to overnight. Turn the steak halfway through to ensure even absorption of the marinade.
Let the steak sit at room temperature for 20-30 minutes before cooking.
Grill or pan-sear the steak to your desired doneness.
Boil any leftover marinade for 5-7 minutes to use as sauce.
