Cast Iron Pepperoni Pizza

Ingredients
- 10 ounces pizza dough, room temperature
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/3 cup pizza sauce
- 4 ounces shredded mozzarella
- Pepperoni
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
- Red pepper flakes, optional
Instructions
Preheat oven to 500°F. Place a 10-inch cast iron skillet into the oven to heat for 10 minutes.
While the skillet preheats, stretch the dough into a 12-inch circle.
Carefully remove the hot skillet from the oven. Drizzle olive oil into the skillet and swirl it to coat the bottom and sides.
Transfer the dough to the skillet, pressing it gently up the edges.
Spread the pizza sauce over the dough. Top with mozzarella and pepperoni.
Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
Transfer the pizza to a cutting board. Let cool for 5 minutes.
Top with fresh basil and red pepper, if using.
