Chicken Vermicelli (Bun Ga Xao)

If you’re looking for a delicious and hearty noodle dish, this is it. This easy chicken vermicelli recipe is made with shredded cooked chicken, vermicelli noodles, carrots, and cabbage, all tossed in a flavorful sauce.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces vermicelli noodles
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 carrots, shredded
  • 2 cups shredded cooked chicken
  • 2 cups cabbage, shredded
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce

Instructions

  1. Cook noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.

  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add sesame oil. Add onions and saute until tender, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and fry until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add carrots, chicken, and cabbage.

  3. In a small bowl, combine chicken broth and cornstarch until smooth. Add to skillet. Add soy sauce and oyster sauce. Stir to combine.

  4. Add noodles. Toss until evenly combined.
