One of my favorite dishes growing up was this Vietnamese chicken salad (gổi gà). My mom would serve this either alone or with rice porridge drizzled with ginger fish sauce (mắm gừng). It’s light, tangy, slightly sweet, and full of yummy herbs like Vietnamese coriander and fried shallots. For an added crunch, you can add some shredded cabbage, but it’s totally optional!
This dill pickle potato salad is a twist on your standard potato salad. It's loaded with potatoes, fresh dill, and dill pickles. It's the perfect make-ahead side dish for the summer!
This is one of my favorite salads, inspired by my fiancé’s mom. I’m a huge fan of bulgur wheat - I love that it’s so versatile, you can add almost anything to it and you won’t go wrong. The flavor bomb of sweet, tangy, and citrusy in this salad is perfect for spring or summer.
Once you start making these, I promise you’ll become addicted! Store bought tortillas crisp up perfectly when cooked and don’t taste like tortillas, but rather like the perfect thin crust pizza dough. These single serving tortilla pizzas have a salad on top of them with roasted mushrooms, arugula, and parmesan, finished with a spritz of lemon juice.
Chicken salad, but make it curry! I was in the mood for chicken salad, but I also wanted chicken curry, so I figured why not both? I added curry powder, dried cranberries, and toasted sliced almonds to make this curried chicken salad and served it on a croissant over a bed of arugula.
There’s never a bad time to make these addicting shrimp and crab toasts. Featuring a savory shrimp and imitation crab mixture on top of crispy, golden sliced baguette, these tasty little toasts are perfect for any occasion. Plus, you can make the shrimp and crab mixture ahead of time. The imitation crab adds a subtle sweetness, which I like, but you can use real crab if you’d like!
No need to wing dinner tonight - I've got you covered with these perfect crispy basked fish sauce wings! These are the most heavenly wings you’ll ever have. They’re perfectly crispy and crunchy on the outside, fall-off-bone on the inside and full of melt-in-your-mouth goodness. They’re tossed with fish sauce (a staple Vietnamese seasoning ingredient), sweet chili sauce, garlic, sugar, and a hint of lime - a mouthwatering blend of savory, sweet, and citrusy.
If there's one thing that Chris can't get enough of, it's beef jerky, so we got ourselves a smoker and have been trying out our hand at making jerky. After a few batches, we've finally figured it out so we're sharing our recipe here with all of you! This beef jerky is deliciously seasoned, savory, and absolutely well worth the wait. The perk is they're less expensive than store bought jerky (and taste better too!).
Who doesn’t love a heap of deliciously seasoned waffle fries? These waffle fries are baked in the oven to crisp perfection and seasoned with a homemade blend of spices.
These cheesy radish sourdough toasts are a simple, yet elegant breakfast or fresh spring appetizer option that takes just five minutes to make.
This strawberry arugula salad is colorful and delicious! Classic fruit and cheese is complemented by peppery arugula and nutty almonds, and topped off with an easy honey balsamic vinaigrette.
